Running Parallels Desktop version 27.0.1. When I start my Windows VM, I am prompted to allow Parallels Desktop.app to access data from other apps.
If I select "Don't Allow", I am presented with a message that "The virtual machine cannot be started due to a critical error". Clicking on the link in "Check this solution", I am directed to a web page from 2023. See the following link.

Following those directions, I set the .pvm file permissions for my VM to allow read/write access by everyone. This has no effect on the problem.
I have another Windows VM for which the .pvm file has the same permission and it works great when I select "Don't Allow" during startup.
Giving Parallels Desktop access to other app data is a security risk. Is there a way around this without compromising security? Do I need to change access on some other file?
