2xa file gets deleted after use

Hello!
I'm running CentOS with the latest 2XClient installed. I've moved the 2xa files we were provided over from windows and I'm able to start 2x from command line using
./appserverclient -i /2xafile.2xa
Everything launches as it's supposed to, however, when I disconnect the file is removed.
Two questions, why is this happening?
Is there any way I can import and save these settings similar to how it's done on Windows?

AFAIK, 2xa are meant to be temporary files used to launch a connection.
To import settings, on windows, I normally use a "2xc" via the File > import/export of settings.
