Did more testing . . . Seems the "Enable Hardware Virtualization Support (EHVS)" check box is the culpret. I checked it (on) and it locked up again. Uncheck and doesnt lock up. I then set the Acceleration to high and it works still with the EHVS unchecked. I have a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual core...

Acceleration Level is set to High. and Enable Hardware Virt is checked. I set it to Normal and turned off the check mark and am trying it now. wayne

When defining a new VM, you have to pick a guest OS and version. What does Parallels do when I select a different Linux version in the list? Does it change the way Parallels presents the machine? If so, what does it change? wayne
