Shared Network not working on Windows 11

Hi,
The shared network is not working on Windows 11 ARM virtual machine. When changing to Bridge mode, the internet works normally.

I was just coming to post the same thing. It used to work fine but I just updated to Sonoma and suddenly my Windows 11 ARM VM internet speed is 0.25 down and 0.00 up (compared to 600 down and 100 up from the Mac).

Oddly Bridge mode did not work for me but Host-only did.
 
Correction. Host-only network only worked long enough for Steam to update before it completely lost connection. Bridge-mode seems to work equally well (badly) to Shared network for me.
 
I've been seeing this as well. With 19.0.0 the shared network would stop working roughly every few days. All guests (windows, fedora) are affected. It works after quitting and restarting Parallels, but eventually the network stops working again. This happens more frequently for me since updating from 19.0.0 to 19.1.0, so now the failures happen once or twice a day. Updating to Sonoma hasn't made a difference.

I just restarted so everything is working for the moment. I'll post a report when it fails again.
 
In another thread, I was advised to go to Configure -> Options -> Optimization and move the slider over to Unlimited. This appears to fix the issue for me (after a couple minutes of testing).
 
@ShawnC4 Would you please try this as an experiment:
- shut down you virtual machine
- open config.pvs file from the virtual machine bundle in a text editor
- find TimeSync section and change Enabled from 1 to 0
 
@StephenW17 My resource usage slider was already set to unlimited. Was this not the case for you? Or did you need to toggle the slider?

@serv Thanks for the idea. I've set TimeSync -> Enabled to 0 and I'll post here with any news.
 
I work in a IT, and my parallels users are also experiencing this. Shared network does not work, Only default adapter. This does not work for us because we VPN on our Mac and need that VPN connection to be shared to the W11 VM.
Seems to only affect Apple Silicon Macs using W11 VM's.

Any solutions yet?

Thanks for chiming in. The apple silicon trend is an interesting data point. (I'm also on an M1). FWIW I have a support case open, but it's been quiet for about a week now. I'm not sure if it's being looked at or not.
In the mean time I've been limping along by changing my VMs from using a shared network to a bridged network and a host-only network. The host-only network does fail after a while, but at least I get a day or two out of it instead of a few hours.
 
I figure it out.

In the Divice Management, uninstall that Parllels VirtIO Ethernet Adapter, and reboot the windows.

I have a similar problem. M1, Sonoma, shared network and I'm unable to communicate with a device on the network. I can ping the device, but I can't communicate.

When I check my IP address, it's not the same as the Mac with which I'm "sharing" the network, it comes up as 110.211.55.4, while the mac is 192.168.20.20. I think that Parallels does not look to the device like it's on the same network.
 
Update: I've tried Bridged which gets me an IP address in the same subnet, but still can't communicate. I can ping the Parallels/Windows VM from my phone, but the Windows app still can't communicate with the target device on the same subnet.

All the Windows and Mac firewall stuff is disabled.

This worked fine before Sonoma...

I remove the Parallels VrtlIO Ethernet Adapter, reboot, and it comes right back. I remove it again, reboot, and it comes right back.
I tried removing it, then running my app without rebooting and the app can't connect to the network at all.
 
I seem to be running into the same issue. What sometimes works for me is to restart Parallels Desktop (Quit Parallels Desktop - ⌘Q and then start it again).
 
I've been wrestling with this for weeks. I have two M1 Macs and both have an intermittent connection issue using shared network. If I wait long enough, it seems to eventually connect... I've seen it happen after waiting days. Once connected, it seems fine and stable for long periods of time (again, days). I just have to keep everything running and hope that nothing updates because the problems usually arise after an update from Parallels, Parallels Tools, Win11 on VM, or the Mac.

I have contacted Parallels support a couple of times about this to troubleshoot. The last person I spoke with suggested turning off antivirus to see if it helps. Discouraged with this advice (I don't have the proper permissions to do this), I let the machine sit for a day or two, and voila, it was connected on its own.

I will try the suggestion above about removing Parallels VrtlIO Ethernet Adapter and rebooting.
