"Key cannot be used to activate Parallels Desktop"

I use Parallels on an employer-issued machine (Macbook Pro M5) and the key they gave me isn't activating. I get this:

I also tried to activate through the parallels toolboxupload_2026-8-10_14-16-25.png

I am unable to activate my Parallels Desktop 12 license and have teh same message.

My license is active and valid until 2027, and it is registered to the correct Parallels account. The license key also appears correctly in my account.

However, Parallels Desktop 12.2.0 (41591) displays:

“Unable to perform the operation. The license server rejects it.”

I also tested activation directly through the command line with:

<span>prlsrvctl install-license -k "<span data-placeholder-token="true">[MY LICENSE KEY]</span>" --activate-online-immediately</span>

and received exactly the same error:

“Failed to install the license: Unable to perform the operation. The license server rejects it.”

Before this test, <span>prlsrvctl info --license --full --activation-id</span> reported:

“No licenses installed.”

Could you please check the license on your server side and verify/reset whatever is preventing this license from being activated on Parallels Desktop 12?

The license is valid until 2027, so I would like to keep using my existing perpetual license.
