Kindly reproduce the issue and collect a technical report.
To generate the report, right-click on the Parallels icon in Dock > Help > Send technical data > check "Attach screenshots..." > press Send Report, and provide us with the report's 9-digit ID.
In addition as a troubleshooting step, kindly upgrade your hostOS to the latest version and check.

Similar issue for me. Situation:
  • Host: 2019 MacBook pro (intel CPU with 8 cores and 32GB RAM), freshly wiped/installed with Tahoe 26.5.1
  • Parallels Desktop Pro version 26.3.3 (57507)
  • Client VM: Tahoe 26.5.1 on VM with 8GB RAM, 4 cpu cores, 128MB video RAM
I've tried to install the VM 8 or 9 times to today, sometimes varying the amount of RAM or # of cores, leaving networking connected or disconnected, etc. Each try seems to hang (sometimes with a spinner dialog displayed) at a different point in the process. While I can see the default background on the VM sometimes, it quickly turns to gray or white. One time I was able to complete the install and log in, but the screen was grey with only a menu bar (no dock bar, <CMD><Space> didn't allow me to start any apps, but the system setting panel could be opened via the apple icon on the left side of the menu bar. Even then, the text in the system settings panel showed up in the various settings panes, but no graphics were showing (icons in particular).

Has anyone had any luck with this type of installation? (Tahoe 26.5.1 on Tahoe 26.5.1 -- or similar)
Does anyone have any suggestions to try for making this work? (different version of VM OS?, boot flags, etc.)

I'm using the Pro version Parallels in 2-week trial mode. Would love to buy it, but only if I can get virtual macOS working on my MacBook Pro.

Steve I had the issue with my M2 Mac and fixed it by finding a slightly older Mac version ISO from the link provided by DavidF87 above. Don't know about Intel but maybe an older ISO will work...

I tried Tahoe 26.3.1 and was eventually able to get a full install completed (!), though the install was problematic (had to do a hard reboot of the VM a few times). Now that it is running, it is still quite flakey: I'm seeing lots of crashes for iconservicesagent and Spotlight, which explains why most of the icons don't display and why I can't (for example) use <CMD><SHIFT> to start up a program. Safari also crashes randomly.

Looking at a few crash reports via the Console app, the call stacks for the crashed threads are all crashing in calls to graphic functions (e.g., "RenderBox") that are, in turn, calling "Metal" functions. I did try setting video.metal=0 in the VM boot options, but it seems like this option might be ignored? (same problems, same crash points in Metal functions). My suspicion is that this problem lies with the Parallels' interaction with Metal-4 version released with Tahoe - perhaps with the virtualization of the hardware GPU? I suppose I could try running a Sequoia VM (say, 15.7.7) to see if this helps, but I'll see if I feel like it in the next few days.

Net-net, I don't think Parallels 26.3.3 is ready to run Tahoe OS VMs, at least for my 2019 Macbook Pro (Intel Core i9)). I'd love to hear of any other experiences (successes or failures) with Tahoe VMs running on Tahoe platforms.

I am seeing the same issue with a Tahoe 26.5.1 host, multiple versions VM guest.

The VM will start to boot, the progress bar moves along and when it reaches 100% it crashes out. Logs sseem to indicate the VirtualMachine process is being killed due to exceeding the disk write limit? Technical report ID 522220494
 
I have a similar expereince when trying to setup MacOS VM. Status bar gets to 80% and crashes. Repeated multiple times. Tech report ID = 523310452
 
Attempting to install OS 27 and it just flashes starting then crashes, with OS 27 showing in the list of VM's but clicking it has same result. Attempted to generate logs and it just shows a screenshot of this chat and unsupported request.
