Hi

I have a perpetual license, purchasing desktop 18 for MAC. I went to connect to windows yesterday and was met with window requiring software upgrade. But the software upgrade required me to purchase the new version.

I'm confused as I was intending to avoid this with the perpetual license. I appreciate that may mean being stuck on an older version but didnt' forsee this scenario.

any help is greatly appreciated

thank you

mike

Hello @michaelc98,
Thank you for your message.
From what we could see, you have tried activating the license on a device running macOS 26.
Please note that Parallels Desktop 18 is not compatible to run on macOS Tahoe (26) OS.
You may learn more from the below compatibility KB article:
https://kb.parallels.com/114381
Given you have the latest macOS, you may purchase a Permanent Upgrade key at a discounted price from the online store:
https://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/buy/
Thank you.

Adarsh/team,
thank you for your response.
hmmmm, I appreciate the approach, but I am in severe sticker shock w the price.
I go to the link, wanting to do one time purchase and presented w a cost of $220?!?!??!?!?!?!?
I'm struggling to understand how that makes sense.
