Product Key no longer working

I have a permanent license purchased a year and a half ago. My key no longer works, it doesn't even seem to be compatible with whatever microsoft is requiring (my key has 6 character sections, while the one I have to input in windows has 5). "The product key you entered didn't work. Check the product key and try again, or enter a different one."
