So parallels fix is to charge £99 for an upgrade when I've already paid for a key to parallels 18 perhaps you should make a build available for 18 and 19 key purchasers rather by asking them to pay again.

i am on MBP M4 max.
in docker inside ubuntu24 arm64 VM I see that error on installing ca-certificates.
but if i just use Docker.app on M4 (with apple virtualisation) then my docker images build ok. So the error is related to Parallels somehow. not ca-certificates in general or running linux VMs on mac M4 (docker runs a linux VM underneath to build images).

I bought Parallels Desktop 19 in April 2024, and until now, I had a MacBook M1 Pro. Last week, I bought a MacBook Pro with the M4 Max chip, and now the application doesn't work anymore. I transferred all the data from the M1 to this new MacBook, but the image with Windows 11 doesn't open. I have the same system on both devices; it works on the M1 Pro but not on the M4 Max.

What solutions do I have? I don't want to pay for another subscription or upgrade.

I also have an M4 MBP with the latest Paralells release and cannot install any Linux distro, same as the others above. This appears to be a widespread problem. Can support confirm that this is a known issue and provide updates on a fix?

Anyone else a Dragon NaturallySpeaking user? I very recently purchased a MB M4 Pro. Brand new to Apple's ARM processors as am coming from a 2015 MacBook Pro. I was able to successfully install Parallels 20, Windows 11 ARM (24H2?), and then installed Dragon. Navigation mostly works right but I am prompted to utilize the Dictation Box for just about any text input. Running it in Safe Emulation. Trying to dictate text into an app as benign as Notepad is a no go. No problems whatsoever using Windows, Dragon and Parallels on my Intel box. Would appreciate suggestions.

My MBP with M4 Pro and Parallels 20.1.1. Ubuntu 24.04.1 arm server sometimes could be installed but without a successful apt upgrade. Other times installation failed.

ANY COMMENTS FROM PARALLELS ABOUT HOW TO MAKE UBUNTU RUN ON PARALLELS 20 ON M4 MBP IS HIGHLY APPRECIATED.
CAN PARALLELS AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS A PROBLEM?

    Dear Mikhail,
As you can easily verify, I have been your customer for many years, and as you can clearly see I have never posted before since I'm completely aware of your updates policies "in case of Parallels Desktop 19, this is macOS 12 - macOS 14"; however, this is NOT an issue generated by changes on the macOS but on the processor of the computers. As I mentioned, I have 2 licenses for version 19, one running perfectly fine with a MacBook Pro M3 Pro with macOS 15 and the second one that I has with a mac mini M2 Pro and now failing completely with the mac mini M4 Pro. If it could be possible to run on the new macs M4 macOs 14, I'm completely sure this issue will be the same. Hence, I would like to ask you that take in consideration that this is NOT an issue with OS compatibility but with the new processor, so a patch for version 19 is really needed. We (affected customers) are not asking you guys give us for free version 20 but a minimum of support for a version that is quite recent
    Thanks,
    Fred

Does anyone have an update to this? Not looking good for fresh install on my M4Pro Mini. I am switching from an M2 Pro MacBook which it worked with no issues.

Looks like the updated version is advertising in the Mac App Store. I've installed it and my VMs appear to be operational again.

    Hello!
We've acknowledged the issue. However, our local tests don't bring up the same results; nevertheless, we keep trying to find out the root cause. If you have time and are willing to help us with that, our Support team will contact you shortly to get additional data to address the issue.

I've seen the same problems as others with Ubuntu and Debian. M4 Pro, Parallels 20.1.1 (55740)
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Create a new Ubuntu or Debian VM from the "Create New" dialog
    2. In the VM, install Parallels Tools and restart
    3. In the VM's terminal: sudo apt update; sudo apt upgrade
The dpkg error appears in the terminal. After a restart, the same update steps result in a segmentation fault.

Additionally, creating a new VM from debian-12.8.0-arm64-netinst.iso does not work, with "Failed to load installer component" errors.

Neither of these issues were seen on my M1. Help appreciated.

Here are my steps to reproduce
    1. Download Ubuntu Desktop 24.04 from here: https://cdimage.ubuntu.com/noble/daily-live/current/noble-desktop-arm64.iso
    2. Create a new VM, select the image.
    3. During installation you are asked to update the installer. Confirm that and restart "Install Ubuntu 24.04 LTS" from the desktop.
    4. Select "Interactive Installation", "Default selection", "Install third party..." and "Download and install support for additional media formats".
    5. Install

After a very shot time I get a popup "System program problem detected". Here is the content of the log: https://pastebin.com/raw/76xLzS4v
