Unable to activate License of Parallels 18 as it is used on another mac

I had bought a Macbook Air (RAM 8 GB) which I used for a couple of days before returning it back to Apple. And, now I have bought Macbook Air (RAM 16 GB) and tried installing Parallels on it again. Now, it says that the license has been used multiple times on different macs, so unable to use it now. However, in reality I just have this new Mac as my only Mac. Can anyone help me with this issue?
