I have an existing V13 license on a High Sierra Mac which has passed on. I installed the V19 trial on a new Mac (PowerBook Pro, Monterey). Before purchasing, I want to insure that my existing VM's will work. After install, I am able to do a File / Open on the existing virtual machines. However, when I start one of the VM's, it requests that I purchase an upgrade key ! (see screenshot). How can I perform the "trail" on these existing virtual machines ?
After reviewing the postings in this forum ( Home Forums > Parallels Desktop for Mac > Licensing and Activation), it appears that there are limited to no replies. Unless you already have a valid and active license, there's no way to get a reply to licensing issues. In my case, I've been a Parallels user since V6 and have a valid V13 license looking to upgrade. Where's the pre-sales support ?
Hello, Apologies for the inconvenience caused. To activate Parallels Desktop trial, as soon as you start the virtual machine, you will see the registration window "Create or sign in to an existing Parallels account" Then you will see the activation window. Click on Try Free for 14 days. Kindly refer to this article for more information: https://kb.parallels.com/en/124227 Thank you.
Hi, Pramesh. Thanks for the reply. That was the procedure that I followed. Unfortunately, I don't see the option for Try Free for 14 days. Attempting to start an existing Parallels virtual machine results in a My Licenses screen. Note that my existing V13 is shown. None of the options allow continuation without a full V19 license key. I have tried uninstall and reinstall several times and get the same results. See attached screenshots.
