When Parallels 14 starts up, I get a blank blue screen on my Mac Pro. In the top right corner I get a notification on start-up that Windows 10 is updating, but then nothing else.
Can you please generate and send a technical data report while having this screen? Please post the report ID here. When was the last time you've booted to this virtual machine successfully?
Thanks Dmitry, This is the report ID : 272042088 I last ran Parallels 12 successfully a week or so ago. Today I clicked an exe file while in Mac OS. (Autodesk_ReCap_50040_Win_64bit_wi_en-US_Setup_webinstall.exe) I then tried to open Parallels to see if it was installing and it came up with the blank screen. After that I thought I might upgrade to V.14 and that might solve the problem, however it came up with the same blank blue screen and a Mac notification that windows was installing updates, however everything remains frozen and blank.
Thank you @RoelS2, looks like Windows is stuck during the boot sequence. Checking the file system for errors might help. Our Support Team will contact you soon for assistance.
Hi, I am also having the same issue. I am not sure what is the report ID but I only see a blue screen. The last time I successfully used is just yesterday. Please assist. Thank you.
After upgrading today to Parallels 15, I am having the same issue. I get a blank blue screen. I can not shut Windows 10 down. I can only suspend it and unsuspending it gives you back the blue screen. I last used it a few days ago under Parallels 14 and there were no problems.
@DonC8, please try to reset your VM and if it doesn't work for you, please generate the tech report right after the issue reproducing and reply us back with the report's ID.
This may be a dumb question but do you have all of the updated VM Tools? Have you allocated enough HDD space / RAM to the virtual machine? I have not messed with them very much lately but these always gave me problems when I did.
Thank you Maria. I have exactly the same problem. I reset the VM as you suggested and that has fixed the problem.
