Hi, I'm looking for someone that is knowledgable on writing Apple Script and who uses Parallels. I have searched the internet for a script which will "Suspend" all active virtual machines running on my Mac and then when they are are "Suspended", tell Parallels to "Quit". I found something on the internet but it is very old and I can't get it to work. Help is greatly appreciated. Regards, Jim P.
Hi @JimP52, Did you ever figure out how to script Parallels to suspend and quit using AppleScript (or another method)? I'm interested in being able to do the same thing in order to perform scheduled TimeMachine backups from my Mac OS host operating system that include my Parallels VM without any risk of corrupting the backup or failing to pickup locked files, etc. Would love to know what you figured out and collaborate on a solution. Vince
Vince, I have not. I use a third-party application to do all my backups and it has the ability to run a script before performing the backup, but I'm having trouble scripting the process to suspend or shutdown any "guest" OSs currently running and then Quit Parallels. I have been watching some YouTube topics to try to learn, but working with Parallels is a little more involved from a scripting perspective. I hope to be able to focus a little more on this the week of 2/6/17. Jim P.
