I currently have parallels 7 and want to upgrade to 11. I know I can't 'upgrade' but have to purchase 11. When I purchase 11 what should I do? Can I begin the download while having 7 running? Do I need to delete 7? Do I need to back it up? (And how does one do this?). Basically I just need someone to walk me through this. Please help. Maybe I should mention I am running 10.7.5 on my macbook. I have parallels 7 and windows 7 and office 2007 (I know right?). This is my first step in a series of upgrades to El Capitan and Windows 10. Please advise.
Hi Katherine, Customers who are using Parallels Desktop 8 or the earlier versions are not eligible for upgrade pricing for Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac. If you would like to take advantage of all Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac features, you will need to purchase a full copy of Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac. You can purchase Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac at http://www.parallels.com and while installing it the older version(Parallels Desktop 7) get deleted. but you will not loose your Windows virtual machine.
Hi PaulChris@Parallels, I have Parallels 7 and now looking to upgrade to version 11 on El Captian. Your website says that it is not possible to upgrade with version 8 or lower and that I will have to buy a complete version. I am on your mailing list, and recieved an email saying I can upgrade to Version 11 for £34.99. When I click the link it says Upgrade from 7/8 to 11. Which is contradictory? I am wondering if I can upgrade or have to buy a full copy? See example below Thanks in advance for your help
