So I purchased two Parallels license for my new Mac and my wife's computer. Seven months later Parallels is asking me for $50 to upgrade for the new Mavericks upgrade? I have yet to download the second license. Was there an upgrade offer for current (less than a year) users? Does this sound familiar to anyone else?
Hi jrsettles, Customers who purchased a copy of Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac or Parallels Desktop 8 Switch to Mac Edition from an authorized reseller or from Parallels directly between August 15th, 2013 and October 31st, 2013 are eligible for an upgrade to a new version of Parallels Desktop for Mac at no additional cost, subject to certain conditions. More info on Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac Tech Guarantee available here: http://kb.parallels.com/116771 Thanks, Looran
Thanks Looran for your response. Unfortunately I will not be purchasing several copies of the Parallels upgrade at that price listed. I mean seriously, how much sense does that make for me as a consumer? I purchased several copies for my business in March of 2013 at $60 per license and seven months later I'm told to purchase the upgrades to Mavericks for $50 each? Even Microsoft and Apple don't charge such outrageous amounts for an "upgrade" due to a version change. I don't mean to kill the messenger here Looran but I hope you can understand my frustration. It just makes more sense to me at this point to spend my money elsewhere (VMWare). So much for the "guarantee". I can guarantee I will not be purchasing parallels again.
