I have had the following happen a few times now on my 2010 27" iMac running WinXP Pro via Parallels for Mac v5. What happens is that XP will go from running smoothly to the gray/black "click to start" startup window without any warning whatsoever. Basically it does a complete and instantaneous shutdown, but without actually going through the windows shutdown process, which is very worrisome. It has only done this when running ArcMap 10, but my results are biased since that is primarily what I use my VM for. Anyone have any ideas of comments? My 2 main concerns are: 1) could my WinXP VM become corrupted due to the improper shutdown that happens?, and 2) is it more likely a Parallels issue or an ArcMap issue? Thanks- JD
