Hi! Once I updated to Parallels 20, Windows 10 failed to load and I got a black screen. The solution I followed to fix it was :

    1. Shut down the Virtual Machine. Make sure that the virtual machine is shut down. If it is in a suspended state, please run it and then shut it down (Actions > Shut Down). Repeat for all virtual machines.
    2. Click on the Parallels icon in the Mac menu bar > Control Center > Right-click on the virtual machine > Configure.
    3. Hardware > CPU & Memory > Advanced > Hypervisor > select Apple > tick the Adaptive hypervisor on.

I am getting a blank screen as well.
The above suggestions did not work for me. This is impacting my work. Someone needs to resolve this quickly for me.

I reported the following technical details: 469560549

    Thanks.

This actually worked for me (Parallels 20 + Win10):
Stop your Win10 vm. Open VM configuration (sprocket icon or right click -> configuration). "Open CPU & Memory" tab -> Advanced -> Select "Apple" from the Hypervisor dropdown menu. Start your VM.
Other options (Extended Memory or Adaptive Supervisor) don't seem to make any difference for me.
    Hope this helps
P.S. I'm using an Intel MacBook Pro

This is the only fix that worked fine for me.

I have a black screen in Windows 10 after installing update
Version 20.0.0 (55653). It says that the blackscreen error is fixed in updates but it is not. What are these software engineers doing? they should d a better job testing anything before releasing it.

Make sure to select "Apple" when selecting "Adaptive Hypervisor". Selecting Adaptive Hypervisor in Parallel won't fix the problem.

This also solved my black screen problem, which happened just after installed new release of Parallel.

I had the same Black Screen problem with my Windows 10 VM after upgrading to Parallels 20 on an Intel Mac. I downgraded to Parallels 19, until I had more time to debug. In Parallels 19, I shutdown the VM and switched the Hypervisor from Parallels to Apple. I had no problems with the same Windows 10 VM when I re-installed Parallels 20.

A black screen on Windows 10 can occur due to several issues. First, try restarting your computer, as it might resolve a temporary glitch. If that doesn't work, boot into Safe Mode by holding down **Shift** while restarting and selecting **Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Enable Safe Mode**. From there, update your graphics drivers or check for any display issues. You could also try pressing **Ctrl + Alt + Delete** and selecting **Task Manager** to see if any processes are freezing the system. If all else fails, performing a system restore might be necessary to fix the problem.

Thanks for sharing the details! It sounds like the black screen issue could be related to Parallels not fully initializing Windows. Since you're running Parallels 18 on MacOS Ventura, you might want to follow some troubleshooting steps, like reinstalling Parallels Tools or checking if there are any pending updates. Another option is to boot Windows in Safe Mode and see if it loads. If none of these solutions work, follow up with Parallels support might be the best next step to get more specific assistance.
