Views and Experience of Using MS Apps Using Parallels on a new M1 Macbook Pro

Hi All, I hope this is not a duplicate post, I have searched and can't see anything that particularly discusses the performance of Windows Apps.
Currently, I have a 2013 Macbook (Intel obviously) and use Excel, SQL Server and MS Studio very often. In particular Excel for spreadsheets requires heavy processing, macros and Power Query.
I am now looking to make a long-overdue replacement. The choice is a new 16" Macbook Pro or if Windows apps are not performing well on the Mac, it is most likely I will have to jump ship and pick up a windows machine which is not what I want to be doing.
So I am interested to hear if anyone has experience and views on using Excel for processing large spreadsheets and Power Query, SQL Server and MS Visual Studio. Firstly do they work and if they do what's the performance like?
