Feature Request: Take Snapshot on Shutdown 1. Need for snapshot on shutdown There are occasions when I want to take a snapshot immediately after shutting down Windows, when the VM has fully completed a clean non-update shutdown and entered the Stopped state. Today, the only way to do this is manually: Shut down Windows Wait for the VM to enter the Stopped state Choose Actions → Take Snapshot... This workflow would be much smoother if there was a simple way to "queue up" a snapshot to be taken by Parallels automatically at the next shutdown. This feature is simply a convenient way to request a one‑time snapshot at the moment the VM has fully shut down. It is not related to SmartGuard and does not affect SmartGuard's schedule, retention rules, or snapshot logic. 2. User Interaction Parallels could add a new menu item to the Actions menu: Take Snapshot on Shutdown This item would behave like a standard macOS checkmark toggle: Unchecked → feature is Off Checked → feature is On (a snapshot will be taken at the next clean shutdown) Selecting the item toggles the checkmark on or off. This is consistent with macOS UI conventions (e.g., Bold, Loop, Show Toolbar). When the VM next shuts down cleanly, Parallels would automatically take a snapshot and then clear the checkmark, since the request is one‑time. 3. Behavior at shutdown This feature is applied when Take Snapshot on Shutdown is On. When the VM enters the Stopped state following a clean, non‑update shutdown, Parallels should take a snapshot, name it Shutdown Snapshot, and set Take Snapshot on Shutdown to Off. This includes shutdowns initiated by Windows itself, by the user, or by software such as backup tools. This ensures that the snapshot is taken only when Windows is fully shut down and not in a partially updated or transitional state. If the shutdown is an update shutdown or a restart, the snapshot is skipped and Take Snapshot on Shutdown remains unchanged. Also, Actions → Stop should not cause a shutdown snapshot, because Stop is a forced power‑off and not a clean OS shutdown. Thanks.
