    Hello!
I am still using Mavericks (10.9.5) on my 2014 macbook pro. Now I need the newest Xcode for university and they do not build this anymore for Mavericks (thanks apple!). I want to keep Mavericks at the moment because I am afraid of performance problems and old apps not working Is it possible to run Yosemite in parralels in Mavericks?

In case of upgrading the complete machine to Yosemite I want to keep a working copy of Mavericks. Can I create a working Mavericks virtual machine from the recover hd now and later still use it in Yosemite?

Last question: I already tried to create the Mavericks virtual machine but stoped at the setup as it wanted to install on my harddrive. It also show my harddriver bigger in free size (65gb) than it acually is (30gb). Is this normal? I do not overwrite my normal partation with this or something?

    Thanks!
PS: doing a backup now first..

    Hi Zen,
Please follow the instructions given at http://kb.parallels.com/118806 to create OS X Mavericks as Virtual Machine on Parallels Desktop.
Note : This article applies to Parallels Desktop 10 also.
