Thanks, Angel, for your support, again.

Just to let you and everybody know that I repartitioned by disk0, created a new HFS partition before bootcamp, which is now disk0s3.

Even like this, Parallels does not detect this partition as Bootcamp.

At this moment I am evaluating going back to Vmware Fusion, as I was looking forward to use the possibility of having 4 CPUs assigned to the VM, which I would be able if Parallels worked out of the box with my 8-core Mac Pro.

I will try first, once, your instructions but if I end up with the windows installed not working perfectly, that is what I will do.

But, again, thanks for your support and help.

    Any news?

Also, maybe it's time to submit a support ticket to Parallels Desktop Support. Not detecting your bootcamp drive in your setup is obviously a problem in PD4. Ensure to point them to this thread before they begin sending you the generic answers, so they could understand that we've tryed absolutely everything and that is a problem in their software.

Angel, I am sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but you guessed what happened. I just gave up trying to install Parallels and I have reinstalled VMFusion... sorry about that.

Maybe sometime in the future I can try again, with a new version... 4.1 or 5.0, who knows?

Yes, I also tryed VMware Fusion. I can't understand why our goal is so simple to achieve in VMF (and even in Parallels Desktop 3), but it's so ridiculously obscure and difficult to do in Parallels Desktop 4. It seems that Parallels' goal regarding PD4 and Bootcamp was to support the "standard/officially approved" situations only so an average user could do everything in a click. But they totally discarded any custom or advanced situation.

However I needed the DirectX capabilities of PD4, so I had to use it anyways... And now that I got it working I don't want to hear about any single nor miror update until I see our situations to be explictly supported in their specs.
"If it works, don't touch it!"
