Image file of game and connect as HDD?

Can I make an IMAGE file of my age of empires 3 disc, and connect it like a hard drive to my Win7 VM?

You can make an image using Disk Utility for example and connect like a _CD-ROM_ to your virtual machine -- click Devices at the top menubar -> CD-ROM -> Connect image...
