I have recently tried out the trial version of Parallels desktop for Mac, and have successfully imported a Win XP Pro virtual machine from VirtualBox. In XP, I run some CAD simulation software which makes use of the Windows Host ID to unlock the license. However, I am finding that the software won't run in the VM imported into Parallels, as it reports that the hardware has changed and the license file is not valid. Is there any way to force Parallels to keep the same Host ID as the original VirtualBox VM, since without this I cannot use Parallels.
