I'm having a very bad experience with Parallels 5 on an external FW800 drive.

Over the past few weeks my Windows virtual machine has been slowing down to a crawl as my the internal hard drive on my 2010 dual-core MacMini became more full. After reading on the website about options, I decided to move the virtual machine (but not the Parallels app) to an external drive would be a good alternative.

I re-formatted my external 1TB Firewire 800 drive in NTFS and migrated the Virtual Machine over there. Although it loads faster, it is extremely unstable and crashes not only the Windows VM, but my entire Mac OS which needs to have the power button pushed to reboot the machine.

I have ran disk checks on the external drive and the drive is working fine with no bad sectors. The software is however completely unusable in its current state. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get it working?
