shutdown not working

Hi all, When setting up Parallels I chose to have Paralells install Ubuntu. When I shut down from within Ubunutu, the shut down screen appears with a loading icon that perpetually spins. If I try to shutdown using the menu, it is freezing my entire MacBook for a minute or two. I cannot do...

I installed Big Sur beta 4 on Parallels. However I can't shutdown the virtual machine. When I select shutdown from the Actions menu, the selection box does not always appear and even when it does, nothing happens when I click on the Shutdown button. Any advise is helpful as I can't make changes...
