hardware options

I AM HAVING PROBLEMS TO SOLVE THIS SITUATION WITH THE HARDWARE ACCELERATION. SEE IMAGES ATTACHED. I HAVE READ MANY OTHER POSTS ABOUT THIS TOPIC, STILL CANNOT FIND OUT ANY SOLUTION FOR THIS.

I've followed the instructions in this support document, but to no avail. When I go into configuration settings while the VM is shut down, the hardware options are still greyed out. For what it's worth, this is on Parallels 8, which I know is a pretty outdated version at this point. But it's...
