    Ubuntu 16.04 vm with PAralells guest tools installed Parallels desktop for mac15 - everything is fine Upgrade to Parallels desktop for mac 16, instead of shadows , there is just black squares parallels guest tools update changed nothing for pd16.

    booting in single user mode with devices.mac.boot_args="-s -v" then removing prl_video.kext from /L/E/ and AuxilaryKernelExtensions collection helps to recover from the issue

    Ok, copying prl_video.kext from /Library/StageExtensions/Library/Extensions to /Library/Extensions made system to become aware of it, asking me to permit to load the kext and reboot. However after reboot the system won't boot, as I just get black screen when login windows is supposed to appear.

    Hm, parallels kexts are already allowed: % sudo /usr/sbin/spctl kext-consent list Allowed Team Identifiers: 4C6364ACXT but it can't be loaded anyway

    it seems parallel's guest kexts are approved and therefore can't be loaded. Approval mechanism is somehow broken Then I thought, lets approve them from recovery mode with command /usr/sbin/spctl kext-consent add 4C6364ACXT Now the problem is to boot big sur in recovery mode as this article...

    Same issue here with big sur beta4 They should also mention the upgrade (of vm) from 10.15.6 to 11.0 will fail if parallels tools for mac are installed ( will fail with black screen after boot-up when upgrade is finished)
