No anymore, this is a bug they fixed according to the readme file.
I think you need to boot XP into safe mode in order to uninstall Parallels Tools.

It happens to me also. Very disappointing. It seems they have spent all the efforts to do the new features but forgot to get the basics working.
Try reboot OS/X. I had problem with Coherence after Vista VM converted. Now it works after rebooting OS/X.
Anything requires DX9 will not work. Parallels only support upto DX8.1 and I am not even sure that is complete.
