    the new fullscreen mode…

…seems to be much better. Maybe I wasn't using it properly in the last version, but the way i can load windows full screen (with aero) in space 2 and just switch between spaces, seems to give me the best performance/integration trade-off. I am satisfied enough with this configuration, that...

After Maclook disabled, windows have square corners

after experiencing the same problem, I suspect that it has nothing to do with MacLook at all. It seems that when using an Aero theme, the alpha on the corners is not rendered correctly. Parallels seems to create its own Aero theme, with a grey background. I think it is this background you are...

    Crash in crystal mode

Tried this 3 times now, same result each time: 1. Switch to crystal mode (from any other mode) 2. Watch spinning beach ball 3. Wait for parallels to crash itself. MBP / 10.6 fresh install / Boot camp / windows 7 fresh install

    magic online graphics missing

When I load Magic online via parallels, some of the graphics are missing. I checked on two different machines, one running vista, one running xp. The problem does not occur in boot camp. It happens regardless of which graphics options I use in Parallels, and regardless of whether I run in...

    Lousy performance in coherence mode

For ages I have been trying to get Parallels to work on my MBP. It was ok with version 3, but I’ve not been able to load it without seriously impacting the performance of the OS for a long time. I thought that maybe this was due to upgrading to vista, so last week I deleted the VM and...

Cannot start Boot Camp VM: Unable to connect hard disk

Ok looks like I might be able to answer my own problem: It seems that if I go into disk utility and then unmount the boot camp disk before starting parallels, this error doesn’t seem to happen. This is based on limited testing at the moment though.

Cannot start Boot Camp VM: Unable to connect hard disk

I’ve got this set-up: MacBook Pro OS 10.6 Guest machine Windows 7 (Boot camp) Parallels desktop build 3846 Booting windows via boot camp is working fine. When I try to start the VM, probably 9 times out of 10, it gives me an error that it can’t connect the hard disk. Following the...

    Got better performance from parallels

Recently parallels has been running really badly on my MacBook Pro. I tried changing different options but nothing worked.I would start parallels, load a guest OS and the whole system would grind to a halt-- even if windows wasn't actually loading (if it had stopped on the boot screen). I was...
