Yeah, it's probably the screen res setting. Make sure it uses the proper aspect ratio of 4:3 or 16:9 depending upon what you need.
Have you tried un-installing Parallels tools, un-installing Parallels, restarting the Mac, and then installing everything again?

I would second Chrisj303's question about what your problems actually are... BC 'always works', that is why I have it in our office.
Also, if the above fails, try re-installing Parallels tools.
