Try re-installing Parallels... Delete. Restart. Install. If you use their un-installer it won't delete your .hdd file.

Quite frankly, the only thing I see as being left to try is to go through the package contents of the .hdd file and seeing if any of those items open.
And, what does this have to do with the stable build? What was your upgrade pattern? That is, any restarts, un-installs, etc. between installs....
