Better you choose Default adapter. It will give you number of advatages: 1. It will choose active connection automatically at VM startup. 2....
HAL dll should be replaced with non-ACPI one before trying to boot captured image.

Could you wait a little after MBP wake up? It could take awhile to wake up Parallels app after MBP wak up.
