please do a search before posting, you'll find the answer is that Parallels doesnt support vista in bootcamp yet.
both these applications require directx and 3d support, which as youve already discovered, parallels doesnt support.
on some keyboards, you may need to press "fn" and F8 together to get the desired F8 effect.
uninstall, reboot the virtual mchine, then reinstall parallels tools... that usually fixes the problem.
