Open Parallels Desktop Preferences --> Shortcuts and try to assign a particular shortcut to VM

Which PD version do you have?
Which OS is it? Are you trying to install it or have you been using it for a while? what happened that caused an issue? an update? force stop?
Can you pease describe the issue in details. Were you upgrading? from which version to which? What Vm are you truing to start? Did it work before...

Try to reinstall the app. your Windows won't be affected. there might be some faulty settings.
What kind of activation key is it? It might be trial if you one downloaded the app from our website. Please clarify which activation key is it...
You just need to right click the PD icon in the Dock+ Show VM list + right click Windows XP vm and chose Remove. That choose Move to Trash. That's it
