How many program's did you install on xp? Can't imagine that your disk is only 1,43 gb. Xp alone needs more then that :)
You can also try unistalling parallels before upgrading. Unistaller is in the .dmg file. Dont remove parallels tools. Install parallels again....

When you want to use bootcamp partition why do need a cd? Choose custom, follow instructions until you can choose bootcamp partition....
