I plan to revert to Parallels 2.5 at some stage. When I do I'll repeat the experiment to see if this is a 3.0-specific problem.
There's a config file for the VM with a .pvs extension in ~/Library/Parallels/<your vm name>. It's a text file and can be opened in TextEdit....
