Querying partition

Hello everyone,
I've spent a few hours looking through the forums (fora?).
However, as seems always the case with user forums, the answer I'm looking
for is close but not exactly.

So . . .

We JUST bought a new MBP from our local Apple authorized reseller. They did all the installation of Leopard, then Parallels, then Win XP SP2, then Kaspersky, then
delivered it. So we are not intimate with the actual procedures involved.

Simple question:
How do I query how the disk partition was set up during the Parallels installation, without risking resetting it?
Specifically I want to know if it was set for dynamic size allocating or not (and if not,
how big are the partitions).

please open Parallels Image Tool, locate your .hdd file, select 'Manage disk properties', in the next window you will se the word combination 'Convert to...'. Please tell me what do you have there, i.e. convert to what?

Hello,

you have an expanding disk. That means that the size of .hdd file should be the same as the size of the disk in Windows. But there is a limit to the overall size of the disk in Guest OS. You can find it in 'Configuration Editor' of your VM ('Edit' -> 'Virtual Machine') -> 'Hard Disk' -> 'Advanced' tab. The size is written there.
