I am not sure what this means? you are missing these features: ``` DirectX Raytracing (DXR): Simulates how light interacts with objects, creating realistic lighting, reflections, and shadows. Variable Rate Shading (VRS): Dynamically adjusts the shading rate for different parts of a scene, improving performance without sacrificing visual quality. Mesh Shaders: Enables the GPU to intelligently control level of detail and tessellation, allowing for complex environments with a large number of objects. Sampler Feedback: Optimizes texture sampling, reducing GPU load and improving performance. ``` Still direct3d is enabled and you can use the GPU. ``` [WGL] OpenGL vendor string: Parallels and Apple [WGL] OpenGL renderer string: Parallels using Apple M4 Pro (Compat) [WGL] OpenGL version string: 4.1 Metal - 89.3 [WGL] OpenGL shading language version string: 4.10 ```
What it means is that the few games I tried that lost a requirement of DirectX 12 (and others report in various forums) STILL DONT WORK UNDER PARALLELS AND WINDOWS 11. Not too hard to understand but thanks.
I just installed and tried "The Talos Principle Reawakened". It does not run because of "DirectX 12" not being installed. If I type dxdiag in the start I am told otherwise!!
Most DirectX 12 games and utilities don't work. No ETA on when (if) Parallels will support it. The Talos Principle requires DirectX 12 with no way to make it use DirectX 11. CrossOver runs DirectX 12 games (but not all). It runs The Talos Principle fine (originally had a lot of missing graphics and graphic glitches). Surprisingly the SteamDeck has far better game support even though it uses CrossOver based technology to run Windows games on Linux.
As Apple improves the Game Porting Toolkit, I do image that support for DirectX 12 Ultimate will happen, it just takes time and development. I also have CrossOver for games that will not play in Parallels Desktop.
I own a new and moderately upgraded Mac mini 4. Sadly Apple does not support bootcamp for this computer. So I bought Parallels Pro. But as I know now, many games do not run due to the DX12 issue. Final Fantasy Tactics Remastered, TES Oblivion Remastered, Death Stranding and many more. Is there a chance I can play these games in the future by using Parallels, or do I have to buy a Windows PC again?
Check the CrossOver site to see if the game(s) that you want to run on your Mac mini are supported. There is a 2 week free trial, so you could always try it out before deciding on getting a PC. Or, you could try a Steam Deck. It even has a dock to allow you to play games on your TV if you don't want to play on a portable device.
