Proper upgrade sequence

Hi:
I am currently running Mavericks 10.9.5 with Parallels 10.4 and Windows 7. I will happily upgrade to Parallels 13 but I would like to know the order of how I should upgrade my machine since I need to be running High Sierra at this point. Do I put the new Mac OS in first and then upgrade to Parallels 13? Will all my old Windows files be accessible once I upgrade my Mac's OS? Will Parallels 10 start up so I can do the upgrade? What is the correct or recommended sequence for upgrading both my Mac's OS and Parallels? I would like to keep my Windows version as I need that for some older versions of software I still run.

Hello RogerT3, Since upgrade keys can only be activated using a standard key of any of the last two versions of the software and so it is not possible to upgrade from Parallels Desktop version 10 to version 13. Please purchase and use a full license.To install Parallels Desktop 13 for Mac, you need to upgrade your Mac OS X. understood but after I update my Mac OS to High Sierra and purchase a new version of 13, will I be able to do that from Parallels 10 or do I have to repartition and reinstall Windows etc loosing all my existing things in Windows world? In otherwords is it as simple as opening Parallels 10 and selecting upgrade? Whats my sequence of events after the new Mac OS is installed?
 
Hello @RogerT3 , please upgrade your Mac OS first and then install Parallels Desktop 13 which will replace version 10 and upgrading Parallels Desktop will not affect your Windows OS, you can continue using the same.
