Just applied the latest update for Parallels 9. Windows updated fine. Ubuntu just gets to a black screen after the login. I also have no mouse control (though I can type my password at the login screen - login graphics are good ). I have turned video acceleration off. I have tried to do a "blind" update by just typing in my password at the black screen after things settled down - no luck. Tried turning acceleration of and on - no luck. I also have on the black screen a message: "System problem detected" but I can not get it to go away.
I have had this problem before - I know parallels wants my to reinstall parallels tools. I did it by booting Ubuntu into text only mode (no graphics) but I cannot figure out (or remember) how to do it. Any ideas?
Thanks.
