Since the upgrade to Mavericks and PD9 I have problems with the file access from the Windows guest system to files located in the host system folders (user folder as well as the shared folder). This occurs with Win 7 and Win 8.1. A temporary downgrade to PD8 did not help. I even re-installed everything (OS X and Win) without success.
My problem is that the Windows Explorer sometimes takes several minutes to open a folder located in the host system. The respective settings should be set correctly and I can see the folders/shares in "My Computer".
Furthermore, it occurs frequently but not always reproducibly that I cannot open files with their associated programs, e.g. with MS Office applications (Office 2007 as well as 2013) or ACDSee. The program does not respond anymore when trying it. Occassionally the error message "An error occurred in sending the command to the application." appears with Word.
The only work around is to copy the concerning file or the complete folder content within OS X, e.g. from "Documents" to "Desktop", delete the original files and move the copy back to its origin. Then the folder is accessible again for the Windows Explorer and the file can be opened again. However, after few restarts of the virtual machine the problem reappears. I have already checked and fixed all permissions.
Does anybody have the same problem and/or know how to fix it?
