3186, coherence and multiple monitors

I'm using a MBP and have had no problems at all with Coherence and multiple monitors.

I probably have missed your prior note(s) so I'm wondering if you could summarize here what precisely you are doing and what you are seeing?

the same with me. I played with all the suggestions but PD still complains:

"Your primary system doesn't support the resolution requested by the guest operating system..."

Make sure you have the latest version of Parallels tools installed. Alos, make sure your Mac side of things is running in the native resolution - particularly for LCD screens.

I run two monitors at home and at work. At home I have two 19" Viewsonic LCDs, but at work I have my 15" MBP and a 19" Samsung LCD. I have no problems on either.

A note on coherence: It's great but it impacts performance, IMHO. Seems like it takes a lot more memory. I don't notice it on my MacPro at home so much, but on the MacBook, I really do.
 
tried 3186 and 3188. it doesn't matter. evrything is on native resolution. it is just not working for me on:

MB/b CD 2GB (1280x800) & IBM 17'' (1280x1024)

.. well, i can live w/o and wait for future builds more mature with this.
 
Possible solution

I've been having the same problem that it seems a lot of people are having. As it turns out for me, the only solution to getting multiple displays in Coherence working is to actually have the secondary display completely UNDER the main display in System Preferences. The way to make it best turn out for me was to change the screen resolution of the secondary screen so at least the widths were the same (1280), that way the taskbar would look somewhat right. I praise the Parallels Team for their work on Coherence and efforts to begin dual display, and I have high hopes that we will see true dual display support in the future rather than extended desktop areas.
 
I have a 19" external monitior hooked up to my Macbook that I use for my Windows. I use the Laptop screen for my MAC software. The resolution is different for both but this hookup works great.

there is no reason that two monitors will not or do not work fine. There is a monitor adaptor on the MAC scereen that manages both screen resolutions.

FYI.. we are not debating that the MAC can handle two screens. Rather, we would like to drag our Windows windows from one screen to the other screen whilst being in coherence mode. Try this and the let us know.

Mine is working fine without a problem in both 3186 and 3188. I'm running two side-by-side displays, MBP 15" and cinema 20", both at native resolution. XP Windows running on either screen, dragging them around easily. MBP display is on the left, cinema is on the right, top-aligned.

Windows is even pretty good at "remembering" where each window is supposed to be, going from a single screen at home to dual screens at work.

Thanks a lot. This works for me as well now. However, the arrangement is a little too freaky for my taste having to drag the mouse all the way down & up. Well, at least faith is restored and good hopes for future revisions..
