Ummm sorry im a newbie asking such a stupid question..

Im using the 2010 version of Macbook air (With Geforce 300M)

After installing the windows 7 running on parallels 6, i'd like to know do I need to go to the nvidia site and download the graphics card driver on the virtual windows 7? And after I installed a PC game on windows 7, should I install the direct X 9 as well?

Or parallels 6 has already done everything for me?

Thanks!

I have to admit I'm encountering the same problem. I've downloaded the driver for the graphic card of my MBPro but can't install it (No device detected on this computer). And I really need my driver to use properly windows.

Thanks for any answer or tips.

The answer is no.
The video card device is virtualized and will be used through Parallels tools drivers installed in the VM.
hope this help.

thanks..

but how about the direct X?

whenever I install a pc game and poped up a window asking me to install direct X

should I press install also?

Windows 7 includes the last version of Direct X, older games may need to install previous versions.
Do not seems a Parallels VM issue but more related to the game you are trying to play.

Hey, I've found how to make it work, at least like it should. Be sure you have installed the Parallels tools so the graphic device is supported in windows. You WON'T see the name of the device or be able to install a proper driver like you did under Windows. I've tried few games and it works just fine.

I'm still looking for a proper answer about the right recognition of the graphic card under windows VM. But considering // is "re-routing" the mac driver, well don't see why we would like to install the windows Driver.

All you need to install is Parallels Tools; it includes the drivers for virtualizing the video card. You only need to install nvidia drivers if you are using bootcamp.

You probably don't need to worry about Direct X.. version 10 is already installed with W7, and any game that needs DX11 will include the runtime and install it when you install the game.
