Reinstall of Parallels Desktop 4.0 ? (Fresh Install on New Mac, after Hardware swap)

Ok, So I purchased Parallels 4.0 in April of 2009 and had it on an Imac. Due to a hardware swap I uninstalled Parallels (via correct method) and I now have a new Mac. When I try and install on the new Mac, I get an error stating the software has already been activated on another computer and won't let me run the program.

Any ideas on how I can do a fresh install of this software onto my new computer?
 
I guess you'll have to pick this one up directly with Parallels. I'll probably soon run into a similar problem... our daughter's Mac is beginning to show serious signs of age and failing, so we might have to get her a new one in which case I'll need to move over her Parallels install. I'd be interested to see what the process is in this case, can you keep us up to date on how to do this?
 
Reinstall????

Glad to know that out of the 47 views I have no answer.... When Phone support was contacted, via the $19.99 method -yay! I was told it can only be registered on one computer. Is that legal? To state that you can't own the software that you paid good money for? That you can NOT reinstall it, like any other piece of software.... I purchased a $1200.00 piece of software from apple (Final Cut Studio Pro) and I can uninstall and reinstall that as many times as I want. Yes over $1000 and your software at $70 I have to rebuy because of ???? I think that I move on to Fusion and recommend all my friends to do the same...

Disappointed in the lack of support!!!!
 
I'm fairly certain that it's legal to require that only one copy of a piece of software be installed on one computer. As regards activation, many software vendors these days tie their software to one machine (viz. Microsoft with Windows 7 or Adobe with their Creative Suite incl. Photoshop or Apple with media files). The question is how to "untie" your copy of the software from one machine and tie it to another one. That *must* be possible.
