Windows keep getting stopped automatically by Parallels

Hi there

OS: Snow Leopard 10.6
Parallels: 5.0.9344

I think I am being stupid as I am sure there is a setting somewhere to do this, but I just cannot find it anywhere and can't find it by searching your support either.

Basically, I open my Windows 7 VM, and it all works fine, but if I stop using it in Coherence mode for more than a few minutes, the VM is stopped, and when I click on it it asks me if I want to start it again. I need to either turn that off or at least increase the amount of inactivity time that triggers this.

Any help would be appreciated.

I just found this via the Parallels Twitter feed; rather far down in the text, this might be of interest:

(When the VM setting "On Windows close" setting is "suspend" "Your virtualized Windows suspends itself when nothing is happening with any Windows application, which saves you memory and battery power, but makes it fairly quick to pull applications back up when you need them. Setting the startup view to Coherence also eliminates having to watch a glitchy Windows desktop appear and disappear as it boots up."

Maybe it is that which you are experiencing? If so, I suggest you configure your VM's options in the Startup and Shutdown section to *not suspend* when no Windows windows (=Windows apps) are running.

I'm having exactly the same problem.

Parallels: 5.0.9344
OS X : 10.6.3
Windows 2000 VM

after every 60 seconds of inactivity, Parallels pauses my VM which is rather annoying to say the least.

I have checked all the options and nowhere is "suspend" or "sleep" a live option. I have tried both "Window" mode and "Crystal" mode with the same problem.

My Windows 7 and Windows XP VMs do not have this problem - the only thing which sets Windows 2000 apart is that I moved its disk file from one place to another.

The shutdown options can be found in the VM configuration dialog.

Doesn't work on Windows 7 for me. When I select the option to let me decide, it never asks anything and just freezes Windows. Makes downloading unattained impossible.
