internet stopped working ?

Bit poster
MAC OS 10.6.3 running Parallels 5 with Windows 7 installed.

IE was connecting and now it is not. The connection over my airport is just fine (I am using it now). I have Parallels tools installed. I really know nothing about windows so I need step-by-step instructions but I am a fairly savvy Mac user.

I am using shared. I tried switching to bridged but it didn't help. So I am back to shared now.

Also, while it wasn't working at all last night (even though the mac side was working, which is how I posted in this forum), it suddenly started working today.

Is the internet connection unstable? Is there something that can be done to fix it other than hope for the best?
 
No, once established the connection is usually quite stable, at least on this machine (an MBAir that travels with me a lot and is very often connected to different public or company WLANs)
