VMWare Fusion 3.0 to Parallels 5?

I recently upgraded my Windwows 7 VM from Fusion 2.0 to 3.0. The results were so-so and I am thinking about trying out parallels. I looked in the support articles and it says that it can convert a version 2.0 Fusion VM but it doesn't say anything about a version 3.0 Fusion VM. Does anybody know if I can convert a Fusion 3.0 VM to a Parallels 5.0 VM? Any help is greatly appreciated.
 
I can say I converted my Fusion 3.0 VM (Windows XP) to Parallels 5.0 and it works flawlessly. I can't say I've done extensive testing or anything, but I can say I've continued to use my VM environment without any issues.
 
I tried out Fusion 3.01 yesterday. I'm not convinced. I think that in particular the graphics system needs work. It keeps flickering, there's no OpenGL support, and many games that run flawlessly on Parallels crash or won't run in Fusion. Also I think it's a little more awkward to use. Nevertheless, their mouse driver works better, and switching back to Mac is a bit smoother (I'm always running Windows in Full Screen). Maybe in a year or so...?

If only Parallels would find a way to reduce the amount of wired Memory that the VM is hogging...
 
It is my understanding that Transporter is for servers. I would like to migrate VMware 3 to Parallels Desktop 5. Is this a reliable tested process at this point?. I have an existing virtual machine with very many important applications instaled that I can't afford to lose.
 
I'm unable to completely import my Fusion 3.01 VM because the mouse and keyboard don't work after import and it won't let me reactivate windows. Others have succeeded. Try the trial version first.
 
I'm also interested in switching 3 VMware VM's from 3.01 to Parallels 5, Transporter looks like it's only VMware 2x machines, or so it appears. What happens to VM tools that's install in the VMware images in getting transported ?

VM tools DOES NOT uninstall well, does Transporter deal with this?
I can't screw these image up, I no longer have the physical machines they were imaged from so I have to have the transport go perfectly if I want to use parallels.
Has anyone had any experience with VMware 3.0.1 Images, with VM tools installed, being transported to Parallels 5 and do the resultant images actually work ?

I just converted my fusion 3.x to Parallels 5.0. I duplicated my Fusion VM just incase and pointed to that file for the conversion. The conversion process was flawless and left all my files intact. The only issue I had was the need to reactivate Windows since all the drivers/virtual hardware changed. I expected that one though!

I then deleted my duplicate Fusion VM and am up and running.
