I have several versions of Windows running in Parallel on my MacBook Pro. I just installed a version of Windows 7 and everything went very smoothly. I also installed the Parallel tools and several applications for work without any hiccups. Keep in mind that many of these installations had required several reboots.
Upon changing a couple prefs in the configure panel, such as increased video ram and changing from 1 CPU to 2, and restarting Windows I had lost EVERYTHING. All installed apps and system preferences, even the desktop image, had all been wiped to the default settings. I've even looked to see if I was using the wrong user account but I couldn't find anything in the folders.
This is the first time I've set my configuration to share my OS X User folder so I'm wondering if some sort of alias has been deleted.
Gotta jump on a plane right now. Let me know what I should be looking for to recover my Windows user account with all the apps I've installed.
