I run a Vista VM on Parallels 4, and I usually suspend the machine and quit Parallels rather than shut down the machine, when I'm done working in Windows. But most of the time when I resume the machine later, it'll take a very long time (~5 min on average) to respond. It'll eventually register mouse clicks, etc., that I put in, but take a really long time to do it. Once it starts going it's fine. This doesn't happen when I start a machine that's been stopped. Any idea why this is happening, and how to fix it?
While suspending/resuming virtual machine memory state is written to file/deployed back to memory, it can take some time in case if you have a large amount of memory assigned to a virtual machine or a lack of disk space
Thanks! I have 1 GB of my 4 GB RAM allocated to the Parallels VM, and about 40 GB free on my hard drive (out of ~250). Does this sound like it would cause the behavior I'm seeing? And what can I do to decrease this "loading time"?
