iMac 24" core2Duo only showing 1 xp processor

I have installed xpPro as a vm in Parallels on an 1Mac 24" 2.16 core2duo w/2g ram the xp vm has 1gb allocated to it.

When I go into the xp Task manager and look at the processor usage I only see one Processor core active. In bootcamp on a mac pro I see 4, 2 per physical processor.

Is parallels not using both cores in the processor? If used on a macPro will it use all four or only 2?

Will it ever be able to use both cores simultanously on an Imac with one core2duo?

ps. its nice to see it working, good job, I was a few days away from returning it.

The current implementation of Intel's VTx technology only supports virtualizing 1 CPU. The next gen of the tech will support virtualization of additional cores. It's reasonable to assume Parallels (and others?) will support that when it's available. Bootcamp can't be compared to Parallels. Parallels is virtualization. Bootcamp is a markerting term invented by apple to name a bootloader that let's you load and run Windows natively. The two technologies are light years apart. And I'm being extremely generous by refering to bootcamp as technology in the same vein as Parallels.
